HIT THE TRAILS

You’ll find many excellent biking and walking trails in and around Ōpōtiki. Choices range from short walks to mountain biking adventures and multi-day hikes.

The Ōpōtiki district has over 10,000 square kilometres of native forest, a lot of it managed by the Department of Conservation, with huts for trampers and hunters.

Always take suitable clothing and gear, and always check the weather forecast first. To know more about any of these outdoor activities in the Eastern Bay of Plenty, please ask the i-SITE. For more information you can also see the Hikes & Walks Out East brochure.
